We
started off this year with a warm, fun-filled Saraswati Puja
celebration
on Feb 23rd ; we had nearly 600 participants. We tried our
best
to
involve as many community children as possible in various activities.
Gen-X
Committee played a big role in helping supervise the kids’ activities.
All
credit goes to the volunteers who came forward willingly and lent their
hands
to make the whole day so enjoyable for everyone. This year we had
one
of the greatest number of on-stage children participants (nearly 80).
It
all happened with your help. A family atmosphere was maintained
throughout
the day.
On
behalf of BAGC Executive Committee, I want to acknowledge
additional
donations made by Mrs. Nibedita Mukherjee, Dr. Geeti Ghosh
and
Mrs. Juthika Basu during Saraswati Puja.
I
am also happy to announce, our BAGC Bangla Classes started on
Mar
1st under the guidance of Bangla Education Committee.
They are held
at
Schaumburg Library every other weekend. We have 33 children
registered
so far. BAGC Exe Com appreciates help from parents, who have
become
our dedicated volunteer teachers.
Next
we will celebrate our spring festival, Gen-X Day/Banga
Sanskriti
Divas, on April 26th at Streamwood High School. We have planned
day
long activities. The Gen-X committee will conduct Children’s Talent
show
in the afternoon. We will have a GBM on Banga Bhavan
ByLaws
Amendment, followed by AdHoC BBC (Banga Bhavan Committee)
election,
an extremely important milestone in our community. I personally
request
you to attend the meeting and help elect the AdHoC BBC. In the
evening
we will have cultural programs. BAGC Exe Com wants to extend
Shubha
Naba Barsha greetings to all our extended family members.
Looking forward to your participation on the 26th.
